At NEC, music is everywhere and our halls buzz with energy. Here, superb conservatory faculty guide a community of spirited young people, from absolute beginners to the most advanced students through an exciting musical journey. It’s conservatory-level training in an open-enrollment setting, where our students rise to the challenge of rigorous music-making and relish being with other kids who love it, too.
NEC Prep is one of the largest Programs of its kind in the nation, with 1400 students from across New England participating every week in lessons, classes, and ensembles. We offer musical opportunities for kids age 4 until high school graduation level. We offer financial assistance for families in need.
Our Open House will feature a String and Brass family petting Zoo, a Eurhythmics demo, and more!

NEC Open House Schedule
1-3 PM - Info Booth in Pierce Hall
1-3 PM - String Instrument Petting Zoo in SB 113 (including violin, viola, cello, bass, harp)
1-3 PM - Brass Instrument Petting Zoo in G01 (trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium)
1:30 PM - NEC Prep Tour led by Corey King (orchestras, Young Composer Seminars, Young Women's Chorale and more!)
3 PM - NEC Prep Tour led by Rebecca Bogers (senior orchestras (YS, YPO), Youth Chorale, Advanced Piano Seminar and more!)
3:15-3:45 PM - Eurhythmics Demonstrationin Pierce Hall
3:30-4:00pm- Jazz Jam Session in G01. Jazz Students/Prospective students are invited to bring their instruments for this Jam.
