Hugh Wolff, Stanford and Norma Jean Calderwood Director of Orchestras, conducts the NEC Philharmonia. He returns to one of his specialties, the music of Shostakovich.

Steven Laraia '13, winner of the NEC Concerto Competition and a student of Kim Kashkashian, is the soloist in the Walton Viola Concerto. Laraia, a native of Sewell, New Jersey, won Second Prize in the 2012 Musiccas International Young Artist Competition and he has been a member of the Sphinx organization's touring ensemble, the Sphinx Virtuosi. Steven is the recipient of the Abraham Skernick Memorial Presidential Scholarship.
