Pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, in town for a performance with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, leads today's masterclass. After a recent performance, the New York Times gushed that he "played with sophistication and suavity, both clarity and a freedom infused by the spirit of jazz."
Also of note from that performance, the fact that a concert goer was moved to leap from his seat and give a whoop of delight after the final notes. Today's masterclass is sure to be filled with similar moments of surprise and inspiration.
