The Callithumpian Consort revisits composers (Lei Liang, Steve Reich) and a work (Tristan Murail's Le Lac) performed in the June 2011 session of NEC's Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance Practice. It's a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in hearing where new music has been going, and to understand where it might be going next.

Performed by the ensemble Neofonía on the Predihano Contemporary Music Series, produced by the Cankarjev dom Cultural center, in Ljubljana on May 19, 2010.

More information about the work is available at the composer's website.

Led by Stephen Drury of the NEC faculty, the Callithumpian Consort is a loose aggregation of NEC students, alumni, and new music enthusiasts that performs locally, on the East Coast, and in Europe.
