Great artists give free concerts at New England Conservatory—simply because they teach here.
Pianist Konstantinos Papadakis performs selections from composers across four centuries, including Domenico Scarlatti, Frederic Chopin, Igor Stravinsky, and the premiere of contemporary Greek composer Apostolos Darlas's Six Dances for Piano. The program will feature Papadakis on solo piano, and will include Chopin's Sonata no. 3 in b minor Op. 58, a collection of Scarlatti's sonatas, and three movements from Stravinsky's Petrouchka.
The concert's repertoire highlights Papadakis's sprawling mastery of compositions that include 70 concertos and over 300 works for solo piano, as well as a number of various chamber pieces.
