Ahn named "Best Principal Actor in a Musical"
The San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle (SFBATCC) has named tenor Julius Ahn '08 "Best Principal Actor in a Musical" for the year 2013 in its annual awards, presented May 5, 2014. Ahn starred in the American Conservatory Theatre production of Stuck Elevator, which also received awards for "Best Original Musical," with music by Byron Au Yong and libretto by Aaron Jafferis.
In his roundup of the awards, local critic Clinton Stark called out Ahn's "standout—and very memorable—turn." Stark's review from the show's 2013 run can be found here.
Ahn was prominently and memorably cast in NEC mainstage opera productions during his time at NEC, and has continued to perform roles in Boston productions along with his more far-flung appearances.
