Director, Jazz Lab; Trombone; Improvisation; Ensemble Coaching
Tim Lienhard is a Boston-based trombonist, composer, and administrator. He serves as the Senior Admissions Counselor at New England Conservatory overseeing admissions for Jazz, Contemporary Improvisation, Composition and Brass/Percussion.
Tim is the director of New England Conservatory's summer program, Jazz Lab, where students from across the country and abroad experience NEC's faculty, Jazz department and the city of Boston in a one week intensive.
As an active performer and studio musician, Tim has recorded with The Ayn Inserto Jazz Orchestra featuring George Garzone, the Boston String Quartet, the Beantown Swing Orchestra, and the Omar Thomas Large Ensemble among others. Tim is a regular artist and clinician at the Panama Jazz Festival where he has performed with Danilo Perez, John Patitucci and Ruben Blades. Tim frequently performs in the Boston area as a freelance trombonist.
