Masuko Ushioda taught New England Conservatory's College and Preparatory School violin students beginning in 1974, and until her death in 2013.

Ushioda performed with major orchestras throughout the world and appeared at the Marlboro and Spoleto festivals. She was the first-prize winner of the 1956 Mainichi competition of Tokyo and second prize winner at the Tchaikovsky Competition in 1966. She was also a prize winner of the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in 1963.

Graduate of Toho Gakuen School of Music, Tokyo. Studies with Joseph Szigeti in Switzerland, Mikail Weiman at Leningrad Conservatory, Anna Ono in Japan. Recordings for Angel, Toshiba, Melodiya.
