Darin Goulet is a composer, educator, music director, and accompanist. He is currently the Performing Arts Chair at Shady Hill School in Cambridge, where he conducts several choruses, music directs the 8th Grade Musical, and teaches General Music, Guitar, Composition, and African Drumming. He is also the Music Director for the Hasty Pudding Theatricals at Harvard University.
With his wife and collaborator Tara Redepenning, he has written ten original musicals for young audiences, produced at LA-area community theaters and in Santa Monica schools. Their show Aging Out was produced by the Musical Theatre Programs at UC Irvine and Chattanooga State University. As music director for the Academy for New Musical Theatre in Los Angeles, he assisted in the development of new work by fellow composers Georgia Stitt, Hunter Foster, and Clay Zambo, among others.
As a piano accompanist he has worked with choirs, cabaret artists, classical recitalists, improvising comedians, and theatrical productions in a wide range of genres and venues in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and Minneapolis. His arrangement and performance of Green Day's “Brain Stew” was recorded by Weezer at AOL Sessions and later released on a “Record Store Day” EP. He enjoys working with students of all ages and is especially interested in using technology to foster their creativity and ability to collaborate.
