Bianca Oglice has been on the NEC Prep Piano Faculty since 2015. She has a passion for nurturing in her students an ever-growing love for music and its communicative power. While introducing students to a variety of repertoire, Bianca caters to the student's needs to reach their full potential. She is very detailed in her approach to teaching musicality and technique, and desires to inspire a continuous joy for learning. As a professor, Bianca has been on faculty with the University of New Mexico, Central New Mexico College, University of Massachusetts - Lowell, the New Mexico School of Music and has previously taught as an assistant at Boston University. She has prepared students of all ages for recitals, competitions, recordings, workshops, juries and concerts. Her students' achievements include prizes at the Steinway Piano Competition, Stay at Home Competition, Chopin Competition in Hartford, Musicale Beethoven Festival and Bach/Baroque Festival, and Crescendo Competition.
Among numerous achievements, Bianca received First Place in the Mid-West Chopin Competition in 1998 and 1999, and won the Honors Piano Competition at Boston University in 2007. Bianca has appeared with the Freisinger Orchestra in Boston (2018), Mozart Festival Orchestra and ALEA III of Boston (2008) and also with the Roswell Symphony Orchestra of New Mexico (2010). Her premier of Luiz Casteloes’ Pop Etude was awarded the Musicahordie CD Recording Award in Brazil in 2007. Bianca has participated in numerous festivals such as the Internationale Sommerschule der Kunste in Gorlitz, Germany (2003), the International Keyboard Institute and Festival, New York (2006), the Brahms Chamber Music Festival in Boston, Massachusetts (2008) and the EIMAS Festival in Brazil (2011). She has been invited to teach master classes and give concerts at the International Klavierfestival in Lindlar, Germany and Juiz de Fora University in Brazil.
Bianca’s research expertise covers Beethoven’s Piano Sonatas, historical performance and sonographic analysis. Her scholarly work includes the dissertation, “Tracing the Enhancement of Sonorities in Beethoven Sonatas,” (2012) and the article entitled, “Tracing the relationship between space and color in two of Beethoven’s piano sonatas op. 2 #1 and op. 57, ” published in Revista do Encontro Internacional de Musica e Arte Sonora (2011).
Bianca holds a Doctorate degree in Piano Performance from Boston University, a Masters of Music from New England Conservatory and a Bachelor of Arts from Bethel College, IN.
