Ensemble: Tre Voci

Artists: Marina Piccinini (Flute), Sivan Magen (Harp), Kim Kashkashian (Viola)

Great artists give free concerts at New England Conservatory—simply because they teach here.

Three artists who have each been acknowledged for bringing a unique voice to their instruments, violist Kim Kashkashian, flautist Marina Piccinini and harpist Sivan Magen met at the Marlboro Music Festival in the summer of 2010. Having discovered an unusually powerful common voice they decided that their collaboration shouldn’t be limited to one summer only.

The Trio Tre Voci has since performed across the US and in Mexico, playing in such venues as Boston’s Jordan Hall, the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society and the Morelia Festival, and recorded a CD of music by Debussy, Takemitsu and Gubaidulina which will be released by ECM in fall 2014. Future projects include several tours of Europe and the US, performing unique programs that include the traditional flute viola and harp repertoire, their own arrangements to music by Rameau, newly commissioned pieces by prominent contemporary composers as well as arrangements of some of the greatest symphonic masterworks of the 20th century.
