Conductor David Loebel had the “wacky” idea of planning an entire program in C, although conventional wisdom would have it that such programming is “careless,” or “intellectually lazy,” or simply exhausting to the ear. But, his goal was to shed light on an important structural aspect of music and how great composers work. Here, some of the infinite variety of musical possibilities inherent in the Key of C.
