Personal days are prorated for part-time and academic-year employees, based on the number of hours worked. Regular full-time employees receive two (2) paid personal days per year. Current employees become eligible to receive personal days on the first day of each fiscal year (July 1st). New employees are eligible to receive personal days if hired as outlined below. The use of personal days should be prearranged with the employee’s supervisor.
Personal days for employees with less than one (1) year of service are prorated as follows:
- Not available first 90 days
- 2 days if hire date prior to January 1st
- 1 day if hire date prior to April 1st
- 0 days if hire date after April 1st
Personal days are not cumulative, do not carry over to the next year if they are not used during the current fiscal year (by June 30th), and are not paid upon termination of employment or at any other time.
