Born in Holland, percussionist Edith Habraken studied at the Conservatorium Amsterdam. Her specialties and favorites are the Basler drum and the marimba. Her virtuosic playing is surprising and refreshing in both improvised & composed pieces. She uses every object as a percussion instrument and each performance is paired with a touch of humor. She leads her foundation, SMEH (Edith Habraken Percussion and Marimba School), and carries out her solo program in theatres.
