Great artists give free concerts at New England Conservatory—simply because they teach here.

David Eure teaches jazz violin at New England Conservatory Preparatory School and School of Continuing Education. Tonight's performance features the David Eure Jazz Quartet, comprising Yasko Kubota on piano and keyboards, Daniel Day on electric bass, Matt Williams on drums and Eure on violin.

The program for this evening is titled The Genius of Berry Gordy - A Motown Romp. Each song played will bear connection to the songwriter, producer, and founder of Motown Records, Berry Gordy. The performance will include tunes by the Temptations, Isley Brothers, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Supreme's, Jimmy Ruffin, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Erykah Badu.
