Holland reunites with three musical spark plugs from his past.
—Dan Bilawsky, All About Jazz

As individuals, guitarist Kevin Eubanks, drummer Eric Harland , and pianist/ keyboard player Craig Taborn are top players on today's jazz scene and musical companions in various projects from bassist Dave Holland's past. Collectively, they have joined with Holland to realize his musical vision on the new recording Prism.

On the final day of his teaching residency at NEC, Holland talks about the genesis and development of the Prism group, and its music, which All About Jazz's reviewer describes as

like a vortex, sucking in everything within earshot. Interlocking patterns, excoriating lines, killer grooves and blazing solos are par for the course. Democracy prevails in all aspects, as each band member contributes music, muscle and more along the way.
