The late George Russell's Lydian Chromatic Concept is alive and well, as it informs the enormously talented musicians in Ben Schwendener's jazz studies class exploring the Chromatic Universe.
Russell was a giant of the NEC faculty over the course of four decades, and as editorial assistant for publication of Russell's theoretical works, Schwendener is uniquely prepared to teach his ideas.
The concert features all-new, original works and performances by Jennifer Allen, Nikolaos Anadolis, Robin Cain, Carlos Fernandez, Jack Finucane, Tom Holladay, Peter Jontan, Nick Linder, David Neves, Jonathan Gaines, and Matt Stavrakas.
