In a new album release, entitled COCKPIT, BOOTYJUICE, established at NEC in 2000, adds to their music catalog with their third album in ten plus years. "It's supposed to sound like fun," explains band leader, composer, saxophonist and keyboardist Zach Lucas, '03. "Jazz is naturally an influence in the writing style." With fellow alumni, Mike Gamble, '02 and Joseph DeMatteo, '03, BOOTYJUICE is stationed in New York City and looks to continue performing in the Northeast this coming summer.
Zach has recently collaborated on a project dedicated to the music of his father, Doug Lucas, entitled Lucas High. Doug Lucas was a musical progressive of the jazz-funk era of the 60's and 70's. Zach carries on that legacy with BOOTYJUICE as well as with The Youngblood Brass Band world wide. 2013-03-28
