New England Conservatory hosts the Eastern Division Conference of the College Band Directors National Association, which runs from March 6 to 8. The conference centers on the theme of "Crossing Over" and features the many different kinds of music we now perform, influenced by jazz, world, ethnic, techno, pop, fusion—it runs the gamut.
A program devoted to new trends in the genre. The Hartt musicians in small ensemble under the direction of Glen Adsit and Edward Cumming, and the Jerseyites under the direction of David Vickerman, bring music from international sources, in genres ranging from jazz to techno-pop. A musical mix that will enliven the kind of conversation conferences are made for.
