Gail Nelson-Holgate '67 M.M.Gail Nelson-Holgate '67 M.M. currently enjoys a versatile career in which she sings, performs, teaches voice privately, and narrates for educational and recorded books. She is also a principle actor on a national MEDICARE TV Commercial in which she is shown sharing prevention benefits with a girlfriend. Her upcoming performances include: Port Washington Library Jazz Concert on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 3 p.m. located at One Library Drive, Port Washington, Long Island, New York. Three "Pop/Jazz" Concerts entitled, It’s About Time! at the Historic Asolo Theatre as part of the The Artists Series of Sarasota, Florida 5401 Bayshore Road Sunday, March 4, 2012  (2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.) and Tuesday, March 6th (7:30 p.m.) with pianist, Howard Begun.  2012-01-13

 

Bernie Worrell '67Pianist/Keyboardist Bernie Worrell ’67 released a new album of jazz standards on Scufflin’ Records entitled Bernie Worrell: Standards.   This is the eighth solo album for Worrell who was a founding member and Musical Director of the original Parliament-Funkadelic (P-Funk) and has collaborated and toured extensively with the Talking Heads.  Bernie was honored by NEC with a Lifetime Achievement Award during the Jazz 40th celebration in 2010.  He currently resides in Hampton, New Jersey.  2011-12-08

 

 

 

Liana Lansing '67, '69 M.M., Vocal PerformanceLiana Lansing ’67, ’69 M.M. continues to direct several choruses in the Denver area. Her Show Choir, the “New Chords” will perform a gala concert at Windsor Gardens in May.  SHIR AMI, Songs of our People Jewish World Music ensemble, will sing in honor of Holocaust Day in May, presenting poems of the children of Terezin concentration camp, set to music by Howard Treibitz. Gal-axies Women's Chorale, performs for many senior communities, and the Colorado Welsh Chorale celebrated St David's Day in Denver, performing a work by local Boulder composer Bill Douglas. 2011-05-02
