Meet the Abreu Fellows

The first two sets of graduates of the Abreu Fellows Program at New England Conservatory—the classes of 2010 and 2011—are now developing El Sistema–inspired programs throughout the United States. NEC has now welcomed 10 more participants in the program: the Class of 2012, who enter in the fall. These gifted young musicians, passionate about their art and social change, will take part in an intensive schedule of seminars and practicums, culminating in a residency in Venezuela, where they will observe and participate in that country's 35-year-old El Sistema program—the original on which they will model their own work.

Applications are now available for the 4th class of Abreu Fellows. To apply please click HERE.

Follow the links on this page to find bios for the third class of Abreu Fellows, who will complete the program in 2012. Coming soon: interviews with the new Fellows and their blogs.
