Jazz
duos • trios • and more...
Jazz groups come in all assortments and sizes, depending on the client's occasion, event site, taste, etc.
Usually a group consists of a melody instrument (for example, piano, saxophone, trumpet, trombone), with harmonic (piano, guitar) and rhythmic (string bass, drums) accompaniment .
Groups may also include a vocalist if desired.
Most jazz groups are very flexible and can play selections ranging from swing (Goodman, Miller, Ellington), to standards (Gershwin, Porter, Berlin), to bebop (Davis, Parker, Coltrane, Monk), to blues and pop.
The size of the group should be in proportion to the number of people attending the event. For dancing, it is a good idea to include a drummer for rhythmic support.
