NEC seeks a qualified candidate to join the Information Technology Department Systems team. This is a hands-on System Administrator position with the opportunity of some project management. The successful candidate must possess technical skills and have experience with the installation, configuration of hardware, software, and services in a Microsoft 2008 Active Directory environment as well as possess an understanding of cloud services.

This individual will work with a well-rounded technical team at all levels on a variety of projects and system administration activities. Training opportunities will be available as solutions are implemented. The department is collaborative and the candidate should embrace and enjoy such a setting.

This person will also be responsible for managing support vendors and working together in teams to research and evaluate product capabilities and reconcile them with organizational needs to increase efficiency, productivity and streamline efforts. This person will collaborate with the internal community to research, implement and document future solutions as needed.​

Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in technology projects
  2. Perform system builds, application installation, configuration, administration and monitoring of approved solutions using the appropriate tools.
  3. Maintain infrastructure components and services in concert with other team members and/or the appropriate vendors in order to provide high​ availability of service
  4. Manage development/support vendors
  5. Produce documentation in support of all systems
  6. Work closely with System Team members (Network/System/Database) to create a strong team with redundant support coverage with the potential to provide first-level support in these areas.

Preferred candidates will possess most or all of the following qualifications:

  1. Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio) is essential.
  2. A working knowledge of project/application life cycle in enterprise environment is essential.
  3. Microsoft Server 2008/Internet Information Services (IIS) experience is essential.
  4. Microsoft SQL, MYSQL experience is preferred.
  5. Microsoft Sharepoint/Designer/Infopath experience is preferred.
  6. Knowledge of or ability to understand enterprise services concepts, best practices and user experiences.
  7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, initiative, eagerness to learn, and ability to work independently within a team structure.​
  8. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and all levels of staff verbally and in writing.​
  9. A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with a major/​minor in one or more of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering and Physical Science disciplines, Mathematics, Economics, Finance and Accounting.​
  10. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.​
