Faculty will also instruct students on applying to conservatories, schools of music and universities; what to look for in potential colleges and techniques for a successful audition.

Songwriting/Composition and Listening Sessions

Ken Schaphorst and David Zoffer host songwriting and composition seminars during the week where students are encouraged to engage in the writing process. Jazz History guru Rick McLaughlin curates an evening of listening, giving students a taste of the range of jazz recordings over the last 97 years.
