NEC Preparatory School offers an array of Baroque Ensembles, consisting of up to 20 members each, which play music composed before 1750.  Students play on modern instruments, but learn about Baroque technique and aesthetic.  The more advanced ensembles offer some members the opportunity to solo with the orchestra, and have masterclasses each year with performers who specialize in baroque performance. Click on the links to find out more information about individual ensembles.

Baroque Ensemble auditions take place in May of each year for the following academic year. For more information, please visit http://necmusic.edu/prep-auditions.

Not sure which level is best for you? Don't worry! Baroque Ensembles auditions are not held for specific ensembles. Students are placed into an orchestra based on their audition.
