Pianist Terry Decima taught at New England Conservatory from 1967 through 2013. Originally hired as an assistant to Thomas Philips, who headed NEC's opera program at that time, over the years he taught Collaborative Piano and served as a vocal coach, teaching diction and repertoire.

Decima is one of Boston’s most respected accompanists and vocal coaches. He has performed throughout Boston, including many concerts at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Winner of a Martha Baird Rockefeller Grant for Opera Study, he has also performed at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria.
