Violin; Chamber Music
Jodi Hagen has earned numerous honors for her solo and chamber music performances from such notable institutions as Boston University, the Carmel International Chamber Music Competition, and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. She enjoys playing solo violin for the PBS television series American Experience. Hagen has appeared in recitals at the Saint Botolph Club, King's Chapel, MIT, The Nahant Historical Society, and Boston University among others. Hagen has appeared as soloist at Boston University, with the Harvard Summer School Orchestra, the MIT Summer Philharmonic, and the Salem Philharmonic Orchestras. As a freelance violinist in Boston, Hagen is a member of Boston Lyric Opera Orchestra, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, Boston Classical Orchestra, and Chamber Orchestra of Boston. As a performer with the Boston Ballet Orchestra, Hagen served as concertmaster for many 2011 Nutcracker performances. She also performs with Boston Modern Orchestra Project. As a member of Emmanuel Music, she performed at Lincoln Center, throughout Europe, and recorded for Koch International and Nonesuch.
As a member of Scandia Duo since 2007, Jodi Hagen has performed over 20 recitals with world- renowned organist, Heinrich Christensen, throughout New England. Recent recitals include King’s Chapel in Boston and Trinity College Summer Music Series in Hartford, Connecticut. As advocates of new music, Scandia Duo has premiered new works by local composers, including a commissioned work. As a member of Trio Nordica since 2010, Hagen has performed many new works throughout New England. Hagen is also on faculty at Phillips Exeter Academy.
