James Mosher has taught horn and chamber music at New England
Conservatory Preparatory School since 2006. His students consistently participate in all of the NEC Youth Orchestras. His pre-high school and pre-college students have won highest honors on numerous occasions at the Massachusetts Junior and Senior District Music Festivals. His students have gone on to be selected as Principal horns in the Mass. All-State Festivals, the All-Eastern USA Orchestra, and the National Youth Orchestra of the USA, sponsored by the Carnegie Hall Foundation in New York.

Mr. Mosher performs and records widely as a soloist and chamber musician. He has appeared with all of the leading ensembles in New England, including the Boston Symphony and Boston Pops. He plays natural horns with Boston Baroque, Handel & Haydn Society and Musicians of The Old Post Road. He has been Solo Horn with the Sarasota Opera Orchestra in Florida, the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo, Brazil, as well as the Key West Symphony. As concerto soloist he has appeared with the Hillyer Festival Orchestra at he Hatch Shell on the Boston Esplanade, the Simon Sinfonietta in Falmouth, MA and the Boston Virtuosi. He has recorded numerous albums with the Jazz Composers Alliance (JCA) Orchestra of Boston. He directs his own active private teaching studio, frenchhornstudio.com, in Newton, MA. In the summers Mr. Mosher is horn and chamber music instructor at the Saarburg International Chamber Music Festival in Germany.
