Helen Stevenson taught in the NEC Preparatory School from 1988 through her retirement in 2011. Stevenson encouraged very young children to take up the double bass by making available a collection of child-sized instruments, child-oriented teaching methodologies for the instrument, and by forming the Bassketeers, an all-bass ensemble.
