Auditions for Fall 2017 Admission

Note: NEC's general policy is to hold auditions even in inclement weather, and even if classes, rehearsals and performances have been cancelled.

Audition dates listed on this page are currently tentative. These dates are for applicants seeking admission in the Fall of 2017. For those majors with more than one scheduled audition date, applicants are given the opportunity to indicate their date preference in the application for admission. While we try to schedule applicants for their preferred dates, we are unable to do so in all cases due to space limitations. Therefore, applicants should not make travel arrangements until their audition date is confirmed in writing via email by the Office of Admission. All audition dates are subject to change and/or cancellation due to faculty availability.

Applicants interested in applying for spring admission should contact the Admissions Office to determine whether we will be accepting applications in their department. We accept a limited number of applications for spring admission based on studio availability and consider applications on a case-by-case basis.

For complete audition information and requirements, visit Audition Information.

If invited to present a live audition, all Artist Diploma applicants must audition on the date indicated. There are no exceptions.

* If invited to present a live audition, DMA applicants must audition at NEC and on a DMA audition day if one is indicated for their instrument. There are no exceptions. The required DMA entrance exams in theory and music history will take place on the day following the live audition by invitation only.
