Musicians change the world. A core value of NEC is that the study of music builds human capacity, elevates the soul, and prepares students for lives that enhance the public good. To celebrate this, the 2013-2014 academic year will spotlight music as an expression of social, political, and artistic change in a year-long, multi-genre festival called Music: Truth to Power. Festivals like this are only possible through contributions from donors like you, which leads to an equally powerful statement: Donors change the world too.
Bach's concerti, Beethoven's symphonies, and Chopin's mazurkas were all made possible by individuals who believed in the composers' abilities strongly enough to financially support their efforts to better their world through music. Your Annual Fund contribution allows NEC to hire world-renowned faculty and provide much-needed financial aid to over 90% of our students. It is what enables us to train the great musicians of tomorrow.
