Anne-Carolyn Bird '02 M.M.Soprano Anne-Carolyn Bird, '02 M.M. recently had her role debut as Lucia di Lammermoor with Musica Viva Hong Kong. A frequent performer at the Metropolitan Opera, she will sing Poussette in the new production of Manon in April; she will also perform Giannetta in the season-opening Bartlett Sher production of L'elisir d'amore. Both performances will be seen worldwide as part of the Met's live HD movie theater broadcasts. In February 2012, Ms. Bird will return to Boston in a recital performance with the New York Festival of Song, performing at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Other upcoming performances include a role in Philip Glass's Kepler at the Spoleto Festival USA, where Ms. Bird will also perform the 20th Century masterpiece, Pierrot Lunaire; and Susanna in Virginia Opera's Le nozze di Figaro, where she will sing opposite her husband, Matthew Burns, as Figaro. The couple lives in Astoria, NYC, with their young son. 2012-02-02

Pianist Vered Reznik '02 M.M. and Haim Avistur, trombone will hold a concert presented by the Consulate General of Israel to New England on Thursday March 1st at 8:00 pm at the Goethe-Institut Boston,170 Beacon Street.  Vered has performed throughout Europe, Israel and the U.S. in solo and chamber music recitals.  She was a founding member of the Amber Trio which debuted at Vienna's Konzerthaus and took the first prize at the 1994 Jeunesses Musicale international competition.  Her festival appearances have included Bayreuth, Janacek, Abu Ghosh, and the Israel Festival, She has studied chamber music at the Musikhochshule in Vienna with the Alban Berg Quartet and currently studies with Sophia Rossof in New York.  Ms. Reznik is an Abby Whiteside teacher and a faculty member the Hoff Barthelson School in Scarsdale, New York.  2012-01-26

Alon Nechushtan '02 M.M.Pianist Alon Nechushtan '02 M.M. released a jazz trio recording Words Beyond on Buckyball Records. His trio consists of bassist Francois Moutin and drummer Dan Weiss. The music is a hard swinging, soulful and inventive collection. Alon studied jazz piano with Danilo Perez, Paul Bley, Ran Blake, Fred Hersch, Uri Caine and improvisation with Jerry Begonzi and George Garzone.   Alon currently resides in New York City. 2011-12-05



Stephen Beaudoin '02, Vocal PerformanceStephen Beaudoin ’02 is recording and touring with the band Pink Martini (as a backup vocalist) and directing and producing arts events like "Songs for Haiti" that raised $160,000 for Mercy Corps.  Stephen is also managing director of PHAME Academy, an innovative arts nonprofit that provides professional level education and performance in the performing and fine arts to adults with developmental disabilities. 2011-01-05





Enso Quartet's Grammy Nominated recording of the Ginastera String QuartetsViolist, Melissa Reardon '02 M.M., '03 G.D. and her string quartet, the Enso String Quartet, were nominated for a Grammy for their most recent recording. The Enso Quartet also recently received Chamber Music America's annual Guarneri String Quartet Residency Award. At NEC, Melissa was a student of Kim Kashkashian. She now resides in North Carolina and New York. 2010-08-20




David C. Howse '02 MM, Vocal PerformanceBoston Children’s Chorus’s Executive Director and NEC Alumni Council member, David C. Howse ’02 M.M., has been named one of the Boston’s best and brightest young executives as part of the Boston Business Journal “40 Under 40” Awards. Howse and the other winners, who were selected from over 400 nominations, will be honored at a special event on October 7, 2010, at the State Room in Boston. David lives in Randolph with his wife Charisse and their two sons. 2010-08-19



Ayelet Rose Gottlieb '02, Jazz PerformanceAyelet R. Gottlieb ’02 released her newest album, Upto Here | From Here, in the summer of 2009. Additionally, in May of 2009, Ayelet and Sofia Koutsovitis ’03 M.M. performed in John Zorn’s “Book of Angels” vocal project in New York City. Ayelet lives in Long Island City. 2009-08-27
